Slavin in the kitchen all DAY

If I have to wash another dish, I swear I'll break it. I'll do it. Don't think I won't! I have a new found respect for Momma Fit who who practically spends her life in the kitchen cooking and baking for her five never satisfied children.

Brats.

First I had to make my boyfriend's father a batch of chocolate chip cookies to repay him for the Granny's Cycle Salsa he bought me! What a sweet guy. This stuff is amazing, a crazy biker chops it up in batches in his kitchen like 15 minutes from here. Honestly my all-time favorite salsa ever and I consider myself a highly seasoned salsa connoisseur. What can I say? Mexican food and I have an amazing relationship.

I digress! Back to the cookies. I decided not to make him my healthy variety and opted for the standard Nestle Tollhouse recipe.

They turned out pretty rockin if I do say so myself. God, my boyfriend has the BEST girlfriend. I'm jealous.

I may have snagged one before I bagged them all up - actually it was probably more like three with all the random spoonfuls of cookie dough I "tested". How would I have known it was good otherwise? Come onnnnn!

After dropping off those goodies and running a few errands, I returned to my kitchen to try my very first curry recipe. I've never had curry before, but I keep seeing it on Fitnessista's Indian Food Wednesday and I just couldn't resist. I'm a curious little kitten after all. So I popped open the awesome new cookbook I scored at the Maxx (thanks Teej!) and went at it!

This is what I was trying to recreate tonight. I felt more like a mad scientist than a chef with all the crazy ingredients I never knew existed before. Cardamom? It took me a while to realize I had to crack the shells open to get the seeds out... Don't judge me.

It actually looked a lot like the picture. Sweet. And it didn't taste half bad either. I'm not too sure I'd make it again. I mean, it was good - just not great. I'd totally be down to try a curry at a restaurant now though, no doubt it'd be wayyyy better than mine!

Sun Protection Awareness Month.
Today I slathered on some SPF 50! I'm going to try to do this every day for the month and hopefully form a skin saving habit. You should try it too!

Well my loves, I'm off to snuggle and watch some italians get whacked soprano-style. Have a great night (:
