Just one more reason to love Forever21

Forever21 has launched a new line of inexpensive activewear and I could not be more excited! I'm always always always looking for new workout clothes - looking good at the gym not only makes you feel better about being there but also makes you look forward to each workout! However, activewear can sometimes be expensive. Sports bras are particularly hard to find for cheap. I'm so excited to try some of Forever21's new stuff, I picked out a few of my favorite pieces!

Looking Haute

I just made a total steal at Hautelook today! I got this BCBG one shoulder dress, originally priced at $126.00, for just $31.50!

I can see myself wearing this countless times over the summer in oh so many ways! I totally love the shoulder cross and the way it's perfectly off center. Although I had a list of things I wanted to buy from Forever21, I think I can put them on hold for a week or so - this deal was just too good to pass up!

So Tight

Today, I made a stop at TJ Maxx right before work to grab a pair of tights for my valentine's day outfit tomorrow. I remembered seeing a couple cute pairs of printed opaque betsey johnson ones there a couple weeks back, but sadly they were no longer there. I was disappointed, but I continued to search through the many racks of tights to find a substitue. Just when I was about to give up, I saw the sweeeetest pair of givenchy print tights for - try not to faint - one dollar. Yeah that's right, one dollar. I just about squealed with joy! They were the last solitary pair left and they fit perfectly. I couldn't believe my luck!

I just had to take a picture to prove it. I also saw a ton of cute shoes which I will be going back for shortly.

I particularly love the purple cutout Jessica Simpson heels. However, I am in desperate need of some lace up booties, so I think that is going to have to be my next shoe buy. Now where to look, where to look?

Ringerrrr

While going through the many blogs I check daily, I stumbled upon iamstyle-ish's valentine's day idea blog and it was there that I saw this

I'm not a huge fan of jewelry but even I was drawn to this. So cute! And only $30.00! Can you believe it? Plus using the JESSICA20 code, you can get 20% off, putting the grand total to around $28 including shipping and handling. Uhhh yes please. I will definitely be ordering this once my next paycheck makes it to the bank.

Beautiful!

Cardy Love

I think I have some kind of weird obsession with cardigans. Well, actually maybe I know. I constantly find myself drawn to them, even though I have a million. I just checked out the Urban Outfitters sale rack and ohhh did I find some gems! I purchased this:

and this in mustard yellow:

I can't wait till they arrive! I'm so excited! I also picked up this sweet button up in a dark burgundy

The cardigans were both only $20 each and the button up - $15!! I so love sales. I also got another 10% off by using the THINKSPRING promo. I've never purchased anything from UO before and I've been enticed by their BDG brand so I'm excited also to see what that's like. Definitely will be wearing them as soon as I get them.

PURE PUMP

Another one of my numerous new year's resolutions has been to start weight lifting. I already do a lot of cardio, but I've just never been able to stick to a strength training plan. This, however, is a new year.

Since the start of the semester, I've been attending a fitness class twice a week called Pure Pump which incorporates a mix of  low weight interval strength training and small doses of cardio. And I've absolutely fallen in love. After the very first class, I felt sore all over - a feeling that I haven't gotten in a long time from all my runs and ellipticizing. It was amazing! After every class, I find myself jonesing for the next one.

As if that alone was not enough to keep me coming back, the trainer, Alyssa, definitely is. Alyssa is a huge advocate for women and weight lifting and I have never seen such a tiny girl so totally ripped in all my life. At least, not in person. I mean, at first glance you would probably think her arms were chubby, but they are literally ALL muscle. It's just ridiculous, this girl can't possibly be more than five foot one and she could probably use my body as a bench press without breaking a sweat! Though I am not aspiring to be that jacked, seeing her push through class makes me want to push through class and that's always a plus.

Since I know that this is not a class offered in gyms all over the country, I thought I'd just jot down the jist of one of these classes. What you basically need is a stability ball and at least two different sets of weights (I personally used three sets- 8s, 10s and 12s).

PURE PUMP

Warm Up:
1 minute jumping jacks

Upper body:
1. 30 seconds push ups
2. 30 seconds bent row
3. 30 seconds shoulder press
4. 30 seconds bicep curl
5. 30 seconds tricep press
6. 1 minute jumping rope
7. 1 minute rest
REPEAT 3 TIMES

Lower body:
1. 30 seconds weighted squats
2. 30 seconds stability ball hamstring curls
3. 30 seconds weighted half bridge
4. 1 minute jumping rope
5. 1 minute rest

REPEAT 3 TIMES

And there you have it! The workouts vary slightly every class so I'm going to try to keep a record of them for future reference. Sadly, I was unable to attend them this week due to the copious amounts of studying I had to do concerning a physics exam tomorrow but! That will make next week all the better.

Rethinking the Romper

Ever since rompers first started appearing in recent fashion, I'll admit that I have not been a fan. At all. However, yesterday I happened to stumble upon Superheros and Stilettos blog and I must say it has completely changed my view on the subject. I am now in LOVE with this:

As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be mine immediately. It's just so effortlessly classy. Unfortunately, this romper was from Forever21's spring collection - of last year. Though I scoured the internet, willing to buy it even secondhand, it seems as though no one in their right mind would part with something this cute (and rightfully so). Therefore, I am now on a quest to find a sophisticated romper that can compare to this one. It may not be an easy task, but I feel like it'd be worth the challenge.

Bee's Knees

It occurred to me recently at the most inopportune time that I have hideous knees. Flash back to new years eve: I was wearing the slinkiest little black dress, feeling absolutely sultry when my boyfriend walks up to me and says - "Your knees are looking rough."

Sweet.

So I resolved right then and there to tack on a new year's resolution. Get rid of my horrid dark knees.

I scoured the internet for anything and everything that could help. I've decided to first start out with the lemon juice/sugar scrub so we'll see how that goes. I'll put up pictures shortly to check for any effects

Valentine's Day!

As I'm sure everyone knows, Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and I have yet to figure out something to wear. The weather here is so cold and dreary and I'm sure it won't be looking much better two weeks from now, but I simply refuse not to wear a pretty dress! Some of my picks so far are the following (click on the picture if you want to purchase any item):

Forever21

Forever21

Lulu's Hello Springtime Dress

Lulu's Flirtini Dress

How obvious is it that I'm deadset on something strapless? How obvious is it also that I'm deadset on something inexpensive? Although I won't decide on accessories until I decide on a dress, I found a sweet pair of shoes thanks to TheBudgetBabe:

Forever21

No lie, I think I like these ones more than the original Fendi's. Is that wrong?
